One aspect that will have the biggest impact on the outcome of your therapy is the quality of your relationship with your therapist.
Spend some time thinking about and discussing how you want to relate to your therapist, how you’d like it to feel and what you imagine it would look like.
Right from the beginning keep a check on your status any time during your therapy. Ask yourself how the two of you are working together. How well do you understand each other? Is therapy helping or hurting at this point? This is ideally a two-way discussion, with both of you sharing your thoughts. If your therapist doesn't open up this discussion then why don't you?
